Privacy

Cookies and analytics.

This site can use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help. It stays off until you say yes, and you can change your answer at any time.

Your choice

Off until you accept.

Before you choose
Google Analytics is not loaded at all: none of its code runs, and nothing is sent to it.
If you decline
It stays off. Your answer is kept on this device, so you are not asked again on every page.
If you accept
Google Analytics starts on this site and in the training course, which shares its address, and collects what is described below.
Changing your mind
Cookie settings, at the foot of every page and of the training course, shows the question again. Declining after accepting stops Google Analytics at once and deletes the cookies it set on this site.
A new question
If what Google Analytics is used for changes, this page will say so, and the site will ask you again.

If you accept

What Google Analytics collects.

Pages
Which pages and training modules are opened: each page's title, its language and its address up to any question mark or hash (which is where an address can name an account or a booking), and the page you came from, which for another site is only its domain. The invitation page is never measured.
Actions
A short list of actions, each recorded without your name, your email address or anything you type: opening and sending the early-bird form (only which product), the Store's Subscribe and Buy buttons (product, plan and term), the main buttons on the home and product pages, downloads (the type of file, and its name only for this site's own files), changing language or theme, and links to other sites (only their domain).
In the training course
Opening a course or a module, how much of each video is watched (the start, a quarter, half, three quarters and the end), and the score band of a finished quiz, never the answers.
From your browser

What Google Analytics gathers by itself on every visit, such as the type of browser and device, the screen size, the browser's language and an approximate location. Google says that for visitors in the European Union it uses the IP address only to work out that location, and then discards it without logging or storing it.

Google: EU-focused data and privacy

On your device

Two cookies, each with a lifetime of two years: _ga, which gives this browser a random identifier so that its later visits are recognised, and _ga_B80HCF08EF, which keeps a visit together. Firebase, through which this site loads Google Analytics, also keeps an installation identifier in the browser's storage and sends it to Google with every measurement.

Google: Google Analytics cookie usage on websites

Never
No advertising: Google Signals and every advertising feature are off, and Google's consent mode keeps advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation denied. Your name, your email address, your account and anything you type into a form are never sent to Google Analytics.
Why
To count visits and see which pages and modules help people, so we know what to improve. Only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Legal basis
Your consent (GDPR, Article 6(1)(a)), given with Accept. You can withdraw it at any time with Cookie settings; withdrawing it does not affect the lawfulness of what was collected before.
How long
The two cookies have a lifetime of two years, and declining deletes them at once. Your choice is kept on this device until you change it or clear this site's data in your browser.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us for access to the data about you, to correct it, to erase it or to restrict its use, and you can object to its use (Articles 15 to 18 and 21). To do so, write to us at the address at the end of this page.

Without asking

What this site keeps on your device.

Kept in your browser's own storage, because you chose something or because a page needs it to work. None of it is sent to Google Analytics.

Theme
Dark or light, as you last chose it (mpower-theme).
Language
The language you picked at the foot of a page (mpower.lang), and, for this visit only, that the site has already taken you to your language once (mpower.langsent).
Symbols
Whether the Symbols switch is on (mpower.symbols).
Your cookie choice
Accepted or declined, the date, and which version of this notice it answers (mpower-consent).
Signing in

Firebase Authentication, a Google service, runs the sign-in. It is loaded from Google's servers (www.gstatic.com) on every page whose menu offers sign-in, as the page opens and whatever you have chosen about cookies, because it is not analytics. It keeps its own data in the browser's storage, including your session once you sign in, so that you stay signed in on this site and in the training course, and a record of the days it ran in this browser (firebase-heartbeat-database), which it sends to Google with its requests.

On Safari, and on phones and tablets, it also opens Google's sign-in frame (apis.google.com, super-2a54c.firebaseapp.com) as each page loads, so that signing in with Google can open at once. While you are signed in, the site also keeps the first letter of your name or email address and the address of your photo (mpower.navUser), so that the menu can show you straight away.

If the browser blocks the Google or Apple sign-in window, the sign-in happens in the same tab instead, and for that visit only the site keeps which of the two it was and what for (signing in, or linking it on your Account page), with no address and nothing from your account (mpower.authRedirect), so that it can tell you how it went when you come back.

Tools and the course
The PAACs Lexicon keeps the board you are building (paacs.atlas.board), the invitation page keeps its link's code for that tab only (mpower.inviteFragment), and the training course remembers whether teacher mode is on (saac.teacherMode).
